Prettl Cup 2023- The Jubelee Game
On the occasion of the 70th birthday of the Prettl company, this year’s Prettl Cup took place on Friday, 5th May 2023, at the sports facility of TSV Holzelfingen. Prettl invited each of its locations within Germany to this event.
After a brief welcome and explanation of the tournament rules, the teams demonstrated their skills on the field. In our first game, N. Engelmeier, technical trainer, secured us in the last moment a 3:2 win against the trainees and students from the Prettl company with his goal. We also won the second game 3:1 against PMA 2. With the third and final preliminary round game, we made it to the semi-finals with an impressive 9:0 against REFU.
We defeated the All-Stars, our new challengers, 3:1 and went straight into the final. We were stronger than our opponents but couldn’t convert our superiority into goals. Our goalkeeper D. Seifermann, a tool maintenance technician, kept us in the game several times with quick reflexes. Unfortunately, we lost narrowly in the next 9-meter shoot with a 4:3.
This tournament was an excellent opportunity to strengthen teamwork and promote collegial cooperation. With 18 goals scored and only four conceded, this day was a complete success.
We are already looking forward to next year’s tournament and hope to take the trophy with us to Ottersweier!
